Focused Approach Development Concern (FADC) is a non-profit making Organization operating in Mandera, in North Eastern Kenya.
FADC was registered as a community based organization (2009) and with the NGO Coordination Board, Kenya in 2012 as Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
FADC is headquarted at Mandera East Town, Mandera County in North Eastern Region, Kenya.
FADC was initially formed by men and women from all walks of life to respond to inter-clan and cross border conflict dynamics emerging from Climate Change challenges.
FADC supports Agro-pastoral and urban communities; In and Out of School youth (Male & Females); minority communities and women through Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism (CVE); Capacity Development, Climate Change and Adaptation, Peace building, Conflict transformation mainstreamed with cross cutting issues e.g. Environment and good Governance to obtain peaceful co-existence within Northern Kenya.
FADC also provides ignite and motivational talks to youth both formal and informal institutions to tap and sustain youth led initiatives.

FADC’s programs are founded on the understanding that local people are essentially responsible for their own development. This is realized through community owned participatory approaches as effective tools in achieving broad-based development Programs that are open to all without discrimination on the basis of religion, age, gender, race or tribal affiliation though special attention is given to women and youth. The promotion of virtues of integrity, truthfulness, tolerance, service, mutual cooperation and understanding remain integral in all FADC’s activities.
FADC management structure is designed to encourage flexibility and autonomy on the part of its core management team and subordinate staff. The structure encourages intellectual creativity and innovation among staff members and volunteers to be productive in desirable working conditions. It is also designed to ensure transparency and accountability. The key management organs of FADC comprise the Board Officials, CEO, Program Coordinator,Program Officer, Finance Officer,, Field Officer and Intern.
For the smooth day to day operations as well as effective and efficient administration interventions, FADC has developed functional management practices, stringent internal control systems and policies to guide key management aspects.
The most important of these include the Financial Policy, Procurement Policy, Human Resource Development Policy, Institutional Improvement Plans (Strategy documents), Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) and Project Implementation Policy relevant to the prevailing situation in the areas of operation.
FADC is a non-profit NGO that depends on government agencies including Mandera County Government, GOK, both local and international donors to be able to carry out its programs and indeed to support the most vulnerable communities.
The donors include UN agencies, International NGOs, Cooperates, and local communities.
